mChoice TM SDP (Service Delivery Platform)

The modern era of service delivery platforms are hit with many challenges in both design and execution platform areas. The evolving next generation services need ultra high performance systems with sustainability over a long period of time. Next generation applications are also rapidly growing in numbers and most of the time there is insufficient time to develop, deploy and provision them into the platforms due to the high competent service delivery markets.  An additional burden of mammoth growth in the subscriber base requires service delivery platforms which can afford the high volume of traffic while satisfying their performance requirements. Above all lies the end user or the subscriber who is much more affluent and knowledgeable than in the past and is demanding than ever before. To satisfy both the current and future demands of the subscribers, Service providers need to launch more and more services faster and cost is something to ponder. Lower capex and opex are key areas to be considered when launching new services faster.

SDP challenges are immense and the operators must protect their SDP investment through a future proof that supports network evolution and future migration strategies, evolving subscriber needs and subscriber growth.

mChoice TM SDP is unique in that it is both open and extendable, using standard APIs and is designed to help service and content providers, network operators and systems integrators move from inflexible, ‘silo-based networks’ to a more modern, service-oriented architecture (SOA). This enables mobile operators to seamlessly blend emerging technologies with legacy systems, as well as supporting next generation services. mChoice TM SDP helps to standardize all the service interfaces for a provider, where they can provision, control and bill for all the value-added services they provide, whether the services are developed in-house or created by third-party application developers.

mChoice TM SDP  is the carrier-grade service delivery platform that enables telcos to deploy new messaging and content services faster, more simply, consistently and at lower cost. mChoice TM SDP connects to any number of applications and ease the integration process with telco’s existing SMSC, MMSC, mediation and billing (CDR), charging server and any other new generation 3rd party system. Facilitating the telco to manage different kinds and number of service providers from different locations and allowing using the network services of the telco site from thier own site including live testing is the exclusivity in mChoice SDP.

mChoice TM SDP is a single centralized but a modular solution which would meet all business requirements across many regions. This platform and the applications it hosts offer the potential to generate additional revenue for a telco by increasing messaging traffic on the network

HOW IT WORKS

mChoice TM SDP provides an Open Service Architecture that leverages with the existing infrastructure to provide a flexible framework for traditional telecommunication services as well as the next generation of value added services. Applications are not bound to proprietary network nodes and billing systems. With open interfaces for application development, third party developers can rapidly deliver unique, value-added applications, maximizing the usage and value of mobile networks without having to integrate into proprietary network elements.

The web based provisioning module of mChoice TM SDP provides network intelligence and the flexibility to enable 3rd party application providers to test with live traffic and deploy any number of applications from their own site without having to be a burden on the telco site. The architecture also facilitates a smooth transition from the test bed to the live system with minimum human interaction or none at all. This module will simply automate the business processes and allow secure delegation of the Service Provider management.

mChoice TM SDP – TELCO BENEFITS

Can enhance without hSenid support as it is based on JAIN SLEE
New technologies/standards can be introduced easily independent of hSenid involvement
Good component architecture enables easy and fast integration of services
New technologies can be easily plugged in, to be utilized by service providers

Operator has flexibility of deciding whom to approach to build new components
  - Off-the-shelf components
  - Other 3rd party vendors
  - hSenid support

No vendor locking; i.e. operator is not solely dependant on hSenid to make changes/enhancements to the system
Use of SBB’s to build a standard based component model allows 3rd party developers to enhance or develop without hSenid’s involvement. Hence allowing operator to approach any 3rd party development entity
Easy to use GUI to manage applications and services efficiently in order to monitor content/service providers

Billing and charging architecture with comprehensive reporting

Reporting module for overall SDP, enabling the operator to monitor all aspects
Test and production provisioning which enables first testing under test environment and moving to production environment with ease
Flexible Service Level Agreement Framework to control and monitor CP activities and avoid misuse of the system
mChoice TM SDP – 3RD PARTY BENEFITS

hSenid SDP exposes operators’ network services such as IN, SMSC, billing, etc with easy to use APIs. With this, CPs/SPs can easily introduce new services and try out new services without understanding complex protocols
hSenid provides two types of APIs:
  - Proprietary API (for Web services, Java, etc.)
  - JAIN SLEE API
Providers having existing JAIN SLEE applications can deploy on hSenid SDP without any modifications
Parlay support allows deploying existing parlay applications with minimal modifications
Ability to use hSenid test environment to try out new ideas without involving the Operator
Flexible and Easy to build and deploy new applications, without a big cost. Can try out new stuff without much trouble to operator

mChoice TM SDP – SUBSCRIBER BENEFITS

Fast access to new services based on new technologies
Access to consistent applications since all applications conform to defined standards
