Etisalat (Private) Limited, is Sri Lanka's first cellular network commencing operations in 1989. It is a subsidiary of Etisalat, UAE, a global telecommunications investor with cellular operations in over 18 countries and a subscriber base of over 100 million. Since its inception in 1989, (formerly known as Celltel & then Tigo) Etisalat has consistently provided not only the widest coverage and an unprecedented service, but a host of innovative value added services as well.

mChoice™ Chat, mChoice™ Banking and BillSMS applications facilitate Etisalat to provide value added services to their subscribers. Conversa an SMS based chat application allows mobile users to communicate via SMS and mChoice™ Banking allows the operator's subscribers to carry out banking transactions using their mobile devices. BillSMS facilitates Etisalat users to get their bill information, payment information and payment notification using SMS. RewardsPlus is a middleware application which offers prizes to prepaid users based on their mobile phone usage. hSenid's Prepaid Billing application provides the facility for Etisalat to retrieve billing information of prepaid users. Topup application, a voucher-less recharge system has given provision to both prepaid and post-paid clients to handle their mobile accounts using their personal bank account. The IPG solutions enable prepaid and post-paid subscribers to topup and settle their outstanding payments using credit cards.
